Red

Here in Alabama the weather has been..well..shitty. We had about three days of warmth and sun so I packed away my sweaters, pants, and coats. Little did I know that I was going to wake up, throw on some shorts, and walk out into a state that was 32 degrees. Not only that, but it's been rainy and overcast for a week now... I didn't know I lived in England!

I've been feeling vintage all of the sudden. I mean I've always LOVED vintage but haven't had any good pieces. Until I bought this hat...its totally 70's! So I threw on some bell-bottoms, red lips, and cat eyeliner.

I did a Star Wars painting for a co-worker a while back and wanted to show you guys.
I decided I liked it to much to give away..so it's the first thing you see when you enter my house.

Have a lovely week.

Banana

Last week Miller and I had the chance to go to Banana Republic's friends and family day (50% of y'all!). Miller was not as excited by this news as I was..because it meant he had to wake up at 7am instead of sleeping in until 12 in the afternoon. We had a blast and ate a lot of there free breakfast food.. (I'm a sucker for free food and will eat most of it).

I was so happy to have this opportunity, I couldn't wait to get this on my blog. I've been reading and learning about getting better at this every day, I hope you guys can see that this is my passion and I'm trying really hard to keep improving! The hardest part for me so far is getting used to the camera, this was the first time we have really done something in public (all the people in the store were watching us). All my research isn't only about how to be a better blogger, but how to make myself better, and how to become more confident.
I believe it is working.

Why didn't I buy these?!

New Orleans

Last week I had the chance to go to NOLA with my parents. Unfortunately Miller wasn't able to come, which means I was not only lonely but I didn't take any outfit photos. Honestly, I'm okay with that..when I envisioned my blog I didn't want it to be only about clothes but travel and food too. Speaking of food...if you ever wonder "where in the United States is the best place to get food?" New Orleans is the answer.
The beignets, the poyboys, the muffulettas!
I have to stop talking about it because I'm getting hungry.

We were there for 3 days and that is the longest I've ever been without Miller. It tore me to pieces and I never want to do it again. I did however get to spend some time with my older sister, which was great. She moved up to Philadelphia in the middle of last year so I've missed her a lot. We have always been really close, so to see her go was hard. But she's here now and I'm home with Miller, so I couldn't be happier.

On our first day we just kinda walked around and looked at all the expensive houses. We also stopped by a typical New Orleans cemetery were they were filming an episode of The Vampire Diaries...which I don't watch.

Regular Days

Now that we are back home, life has returned to normal.
My list of things to do is...work, art, and lots of The West Wing. I decided to take a few photos after I went to lunch on Friday with Miller, Mom, and my sister.

I had a really wonderful day, after lunch me, Miller, my sister, and friend Pier took our lovely dog Odin to the park. I wish I had some photos of us all but the park isn't really in a good neighbor hood...After the park we had a little work get together (I work at the Lego store). We all had a wonderful night filled with good food, booze, and lots of laughter.

Desert Sunset

I'll tell you right now..love the desert..but the desert hates me. Since the plane touched this dry dry desert, the moisture in my skin has been sucked out. I'm now putting on lotion 6-7 times a day, my nose has bled twice, and my lips are gone. I'm naturally such a dry person, but here I dry up, die, and become the sand. Maybe all the sand/dirt out here is from all the people who's bodies have dried to death! Is that an over reaction?

Like I said last time…I didn't pack any shirts for myself for some reason. That could only mean one thing -SHOPPING! Let me tell you now, I am so proud of Miller. He stayed by my side the whole 3-4 hours I spent in two stores, he even wanted to hold my clothes!
We went into Topshop and Zara,  it was my first time ever going into either one so I was overwhelmed and took about 3 racks of clothes to the fitting rooms.  After the shopping we went to a place out in the desert called The Valley of Fire. Unfortunately we didn't make it before the sunset so we pulled over on the side of the desert and watched the sunset. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my entire life, we spent so much time in that one spot even though the desert gets so cold, so fast. We are having such a wonderful time in one of the most wonderful places on Earth.
